Introduction

Llaps Digital (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the CareerPathCompass mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains our data collection, use, and privacy practices.

MOST IMPORTANT POINT: CareerPathCompass is built with a privacy-first architecture. We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any of your personal information, quiz responses, assessment results, or usage data. Everything stays on your device.

The only exception: When you choose to view optional rewarded ads (for quiz retakes), Google AdMob may collect limited data as described in Section 5.1. You control this through iOS tracking permissions.

Compliance: This app is designed to comply with Apple’s App Store Review Guidelines, GDPR, CCPA, and COPPA requirements.

   

Quick Summary

CareerPathCompass uses a privacy-first architecture with zero data collection. All processing happens on-device, with no tracking, analytics, or third-party AI services. You own your data completely and can delete it by uninstalling the App.

The only exception: Google AdMob is used for optional rewarded ads (quiz retake feature only). You control tracking permissions through iOS settings.

1. Information We Collect (None)

1.1 Personal Information: NONE

We do not collect any personal information. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Name, email address, phone number, or mailing address

• Date of birth or age (beyond the general age range you select in the quiz)

• Location data or geographic information

• Device identifiers or advertising IDs

• IP addresses

• Contact lists or address book information

• Photos, videos, or other media

• Any other personally identifiable information

1.2 Quiz Responses and Assessment Data: COLLECTED LOCALLY ONLY

When you complete the personality assessment quiz, your responses are:

• Stored locally: Saved only on your device using iOS UserDefaults

• Never transmitted: Not sent to our servers, third parties, or any external service

• Under your control: Deleted permanently if you uninstall the App

The following data is stored locally on your device:

• Checkpoint responses (age group, reading level, career stage, cultural context, assessment purpose)

• Quiz question responses and RIASEC personality scores

• Saved career bookmarks and favorites

• Quiz completion status and progress

1.3 Usage Data and Analytics: NONE

We do not collect any usage data or analytics. We do not track:

• Which features you use

• How often you use the App

• Which careers you view or save

• Time spent in the App

• Crash reports or error logs

• Device type, operating system version, or App version

• Any other usage patterns or behaviors

1.4 Tracking Technologies: NONE

We do not use any tracking technologies.The App does not contain:

• Analytics SDKs (no Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)

• Crash reporting tools (no Crashlytics, Sentry, etc.)

• Attribution or marketing tracking

• Fingerprinting technologies

• Any other monitoring or tracking mechanisms

   

2. How We Use Your Information (We Don’t)

We do not use your information because we do not have access to it. All data processing happens locally on your device:

• Assessment Scoring: Your RIASEC personality profile is calculated on your device

• Career Matching: Career recommendations are computed locally using algorithms running on your device

• AI Insights: Personalized career insights are generated on-device using Apple’s FoundationModels framework

• Saved Careers: Your bookmarked careers are stored locally and never leave your device

   

3. Data Storage and Processing

3.1 On-Device Storage Only

All App data is stored locally on your device using iOS UserDefaults, a standard iOS storage mechanism for app preferences and settings.

What is stored locally:

• Your demographic checkpoint responses

• Your quiz answers and calculated RIASEC personality profile

• Career IDs that you have saved/bookmarked

• Quiz completion status and progress

• App preferences and settings

All data remains on your device only. We have no servers, use no cloud services, and do not synchronize data across devices.

3.2 Data Deletion

Automatic Deletion:

• Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all locally stored data

• There are no remote copies to delete since nothing is transmitted

Manual Deletion:

• Within the App, you can retake the quiz, which clears your previous results

• Unsaving careers removes them from your saved list

3.3 No Cloud Sync

CareerPathCompass does not use iCloud or any cloud synchronization service. Each device maintains its own independent data.

   

4. AI-Generated Content and On-Device Processing

4.1 On-Device AI Processing

Career Matching and Content:

• Pre-Set Content: Career information, insights, and descriptions are researched and prepared. Research results are enhanced with AI capabilities and included in the app at the time of installation

• Algorithmic Matching: The career matching system uses a proprietary algorithm (not AI) that runs locally on your device to match your personality profile with suitable careers

• No AI Models Run: No AI models are executed on your device during app use - all content is bundled with and stored in your app

• No API Calls: The app does not make any API calls to external AI services

• No Data Sharing: We do not transmit your personality profile, quiz responses, or any other data to external services

Apple Intelligence (Optional User Choice):

• User-Initiated Only: If you choose to use Apple Intelligence features to investigate a career further, you are directly providing your input to Apple Intelligence

• Apple’s Control: Any data processing by Apple Intelligence is handled by Apple, not by our app

• Not Our Service: We do not control, access, or receive any information processed through Apple Intelligence

• User Responsibility: When you use Apple Intelligence, you are subject to Apple’s privacy policies and terms of service

4.2 How AI Insights Work

When you request an AI insight, your RIASEC profile and career context are provided to the on-device AI model, which generates a personalized response locally. No data is transmitted over the internet.

4.3 AI Content Accuracy Disclaimer

AI-generated insights may not always be accurate, complete, or up-to-date. Please review our Terms and Conditions for important disclaimers about AI-generated content. We encourage you to verify information through additional authoritative sources and consult with career counselors.

4.4 Third-Party AI Data Sharing: NONE

We do not share any data with third-party AI services. In compliance with Apple’s 2025 App Store guidelines regarding third-party AI:

• We do not use OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or any other external AI providers

• We do not send your personal information to any AI service

• We do not require your consent to share data with AI because no sharing occurs

• All AI processing uses Apple’s on-device models only

   

5. Third-Party Services

5.1 Google AdMob (Advertising)

The only third-party service integrated into CareerPathCompass is Google AdMob, which is used to display advertisements in the following ways:

• Banner Ads: Banner advertisements are displayed below quiz items during the personality assessment

• Rewarded Ads: Optional rewarded advertisements are available if you wish to retake the personality quiz after completion

IMPORTANT: Both banner ads and rewarded ads trigger data collection by Google AdMob as described below. Banner ads are shown automatically during the quiz, while rewarded ads are only shown when you voluntarily choose to watch them for the quiz retake feature.

App Tracking Transparency (ATT):

Before displaying ads, CareerPathCompass requests your permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. When you first attempt to view a rewarded ad, you will see a system prompt asking you to “Allow Tracking” or “Ask App Not to Track.”

If you allow tracking:

• Google AdMob can use your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA) to show personalized ads

• You’ll see ads that are more relevant to your interests

If you deny tracking:

• Ads will still be shown but will not be personalized

• Your advertising identifier will not be shared with Google

Data Collected by Google AdMob:

When ads are displayed (both banner and rewarded), Google AdMob may collect the following types of data in accordance with Google’s privacy policies:

Location Data:

• IP Address: Used to estimate your general location

• Coarse Location: Approximate geographic location (not precise GPS coordinates)

Identifiers:

• Device ID: Advertising identifier (IDFA) or other device-level identifiers for third-party advertising and analytics (only if you granted tracking permission via ATT)

Usage Data:

• Product Interaction: App launches, taps, clicks, scrolling information, and other information about how you interact with ads and the app

• Advertising Data: Information about advertisements you have seen, including ad views, clicks, and ad performance data

Diagnostics:

• Crash Data: Crash logs and diagnostic information to improve the AdMob SDK

• Performance Data: App launch time, hang rate, energy usage, and other technical performance metrics

Device Information:

• Device type and model (e.g., iPhone 15, iPad Pro)

• Operating system and version (e.g., iOS 18.2)

• Screen size and resolution

• Mobile network information

Important Notes:

• This data is collected and processed by Google, not by us

• We do not have access to this data

• The extent of data collection may vary based on your iOS privacy settings and ATT permission

• Google uses this data for ad delivery, personalization, analytics, fraud prevention, and SDK improvement

Data Linkage and Tracking:

Not Linked to Your Personal Identity: All data collected by Google AdMob is NOT linked to your personal identity. We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or create user accounts, so there is no personal information to link this data to. The data collected is device-level information used for advertising purposes only.

Tracking Across Apps and Websites: While this data is not linked to your personal identity, the advertising identifier (IDFA) can be used to track your activity across different apps and websites for advertising purposes. This is why we request your permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework. If you deny tracking, your IDFA will not be shared with advertisers.

Your Control Over Ad Tracking:

You can control ad tracking through iOS settings:

• Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking

• Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising

You can also opt out of personalized ads:

• Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising → Personalized Ads(toggle off)

Limit Ad Tracking: You can enable “Limit Ad Tracking” in your device settings to reduce personalized advertising across all apps.

Ad Availability:

If you do not grant tracking permission or if ads are unavailable (due to network connectivity or ad inventory), the quiz retake feature may be temporarily unavailable. We do not require you to view ads to use any other App features.

5.2 Apple Services

The App uses standard Apple frameworks (FoundationModels, UserDefaults, SwiftUI) which do not involve data transmission to Apple beyond normal operating system functions.

5.3 No Other Third-Party Services

We do not use any analytics, crash reporting, social media integrations, cloud databases, customer support platforms, email services, payment processors, or other third-party SDKs.

   

6. Children’s Privacy

6.1 COPPA Compliance (Children Under 13)

CareerPathCompass is designed primarily for users aged 14 and above. However, we comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) for users under 13:

Because we collect no data:

• We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13

• We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children

• Our privacy-first architecture ensures COPPA compliance by design

6.2 Parental Guidance

We recommend that children under 18 use the App with parental supervision and consult school counselors for educational planning.

6.3 GDPR Compliance for Minors (Under 16 in EU)

For users in the European Union under age 16, we comply with GDPR requirements:

• Parental consent is not required because we collect no personal data

• Our privacy-by-design approach provides maximum protection for minors

   

7. Your Privacy Rights

7.1 Complete Data Control

Because all data is stored locally on your device and we have no access to it:

7.2 California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act:

• We do not sell personal information (we don’t collect any)

• We do not share personal information (we don’t collect any)

• You may request deletion (uninstall the App)

• We do not discriminate based on privacy choices

7.3 European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation:

• Legal basis: No data processing occurs that requires legal basis

• Data controller: Not applicable (no data collected)

• Data processor: Not applicable (no data collected)

• Right to lodge complaint: You may contact your data protection authority, though no data processing occurs

7.4 Other Jurisdictions

We comply with privacy laws in all jurisdictions by design through our no-data-collection architecture.

   

8. Data Security

8.1 Security Through Privacy

The best security is not collecting data in the first place. Because we do not transmit, store, or process your data on our servers:

8.2 On-Device Security

Your data security depends on your device security. We recommend using a strong passcode or biometrics, keeping iOS updated, and securing your Apple ID with two-factor authentication.

8.3 Network Security

The App does not transmit personal data over networks. The only network activity occurs when:

• Downloading the App from the App Store (handled by Apple)

• Viewing optional rewarded ads (handled by Google AdMob)

   

9. International Users

9.1 No Cross-Border Data Transfers

We do not transfer your data internationally because we do not collect it. All data processing occurs on your device, regardless of your location.

9.2 Content Localization

Career information is general in nature and may not reflect regional job markets or country-specific requirements. Users should consult local career resources for region-specific guidance.

   

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in privacy laws, App functionality, or third-party services. Material changes will be communicated by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy and displaying a notice within the App. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
